Threaded PP Pipe and Fittings — Hot and Cold Water

Virgin polypropylene, designed to give its best performance on hot and cold water service connections. Fittings are 100% injection-molded, easy to handle and install, and they keep the line from leaking or seeping. Pipe to IRAM 13473 and NTE INEN 2955; fittings to ISO 13478-2 and NTE INEN 2956.

The joint is threaded: no fusion tool and no solvent cement on site. It goes together with a wrench and teflon, and it comes apart the same way — which is exactly what a service connection, a meter, or a repair calls for. Sizes 1/2", 3/4" and 1" in 6 m lengths. Factory Direct by the container.

Assembly on site

Clean thread, teflon on the male end, wrench it to the sealing point — and no further, because what cracks a plastic fitting is excess torque, not water pressure. The point of this line is that the joint opens again later: a running nipple or a union coupling leaves a break point where the meter, the valve, or the section being replaced will go.

What is the difference between threaded PP and PP-R?

The joint. PP-R is joined by thermofusion: pipe and fitting are heat-fused into a single permanent piece, which is what in-wall distribution wants. Threaded PP is joined with a thread and teflon: it assembles and disassembles with a wrench. That is why this line goes on service connections, meters, and repairs, where the break point is the whole reason for the install, and PP-R goes in the internal network.

What tools does it take to install?

A wrench and teflon. No fusion tool and no solvent cement, which is the practical difference in the field: nothing to haul to the work point, no power needed there, no cure time to wait out. Fittings are 100% injection-molded, so the thread comes formed from the factory instead of being cut on site.

What do HH, MH, and running nipple mean?

H is hembra (female) and M is macho (male), and the letters describe the ends of the part: an HH elbow is female-threaded on both sides, an MH street elbow is male at one end and female at the other. A nipple is a short threaded stub — 6 or 10 cm — and a running nipple carries a full-length thread with a nut, which is the piece that leaves the break point where the meter or valve goes.

How large does the line go?

Pipe tops out at 1" (33.40 mm outside diameter). Tees, 90° HH elbows, and the running nipple cover that size; the rest of the catalog concentrates on 1/2" and 3/4". Above 1" this line is not the answer: for pressurized cold water in larger diameters there is PVC SCH 40 and the pressure line, and for internal hot water distribution there is PP-R.

Does it handle hot water?

Yes — it is designed to give its best performance on hot and cold water service connections, and it is manufactured to IRAM 13473 and NTE INEN 2955 on pipe, ISO 13478-2 and NTE INEN 2956 on fittings. That said, we do not publish a pressure-versus-temperature table here: if the project needs that number to specify, we pull the factory datasheet for the exact size and send it over.

What is the minimum order?

Coverage is by the container, not the single stick. The threaded line is small, fast-turning parts, so it rarely fills a container on its own: the normal move is to combine it with PP-R, with PVC pressure pipe, or with the rest of the water and drainage line to reach a clean landed cost.
