SJT Cord — 2×12, 3×14 and 2×14 AWG
SJT is the 300 V flexible cord behind extension cords, equipment power cords, and portable tools. These run Class K soft-copper conductors, finely stranded for flexibility, under PVC insulation and a black PVC jacket built to UL 62, rated 60 °C.
Three builds: 2×12 and 2×14 AWG on 1,000 m reels, and 3×14 AWG with black, white, and red conductors on 500 m reels. Every length is printed with size, type, voltage, and temperature, and every reel ships closed in a lamiflex wrap. By the reel or by the container, mixed with THHN and conduit.

SJT Cord Specifications
Get the listing in writing.
The jacket reads "12/2 AWG SJT 300 V PVC 60°C": that is the rating. The listing is a separate document. If the job needs it, ask for it with the quote and check it against the marking before the reel ships — cheaper than sending it back from the site.

What is SJT cord?
SJT stands for Service Junior Thermoplastic: a 300 V flexible cord with a thermoplastic (PVC) jacket. It is the standard build for extension cords, appliance and equipment power cords, and portable tools. These run Class K soft copper at 60 °C, with PVC insulation and jacket to UL 62.
SJT, SJOOW, or SO — which one do I need?
SJT is the value choice for indoor and light-duty cords at 300 V. Where oil, outdoor exposure, or cold flexibility is in the spec, you want SJOOW; where the circuit is 600 V, you want SO-type cord. We list SJT here; if your job calls for the others, ask and we will tell you straight whether we can supply them.
Which sizes and conductor counts are available?
Three builds: 2×12 AWG and 2×14 AWG with black and white conductors, and 3×14 AWG with black, white, and red. Jacket outside diameter runs 10.16 mm on the 2×12, 9.11 mm on the 3×14, and 8.49 mm on the 2×14.
Is it UL listed?
The insulation and jacket are built to UL 62, the standard for flexible cords, and the copper to ASTM B3 and B174. A standard and a listing are not the same document. If your job needs a UL listing mark on the cord, ask for the certificate with the quote so it is in writing.
Can SJT run inside a wall or conduit?
No. Flexible cord is not a substitute for fixed building wiring. For branch circuits inside walls or conduit, run THHN/THWN-2 in EMT or PVC conduit, and keep the SJT for cords and equipment connections.
How is it packed?
On closed reels with a lamiflex wrap. The 2×12 comes in 1,000 m reels at 181 kg gross, the 2×14 in 1,000 m reels at 131 kg gross, and the 3×14 in 500 m reels at 89 kg gross. Reel diameters run 0.61 to 0.80 m.
What does the jacket marking say?
Size, conductor count, type, voltage, jacket material, temperature, and area, printed along the length — for example "12/2 AWG SJT 300 V PVC 60°C 2C (3.31 mm²)". That marking is the rating an inspector reads, so it is worth checking against the spec before the reels ship.
What is the minimum order?
No fixed minimum. The question is whether the math works by the reel or by the container, mixed with THHN, conduit, or other electrical material. Send the builds, the reel count, and the destination and we put the quote together.
